Broken folder?

I recently converted a folder into a DMG with 128-bit AES encryption, which I can open perfectly. The folder I converted was locked, and the perms on it did not allow access to anyone (shows the red minus sign in the corner of the icon). The problem is, when I try to change the perms for the mounted disk image, it won't let me click it. If ANYONE has the solution, please reply or at least point in the the right direction.

OS: Mountain Lion 10.8.1 (Build 12B19)

Have you clicked the little LOCK icon in the lower left corner?

There is no lock button. It's the perms btw.
