So, I dropped my new phone after a week and shattered the glass. I went to the Apple store, but they said I would have to pay for basically a new phone since the repair is 200 and that's what I paid for the phone:(. Any advice here on how I can avoid paying for this phone twice?

Sorry man, you're going to have to pay. Apple states in its warranty policy that if the screen is broken on accident they're not going to cover it, looks like your sol, sorry.

Insurance.

$200 is cheaper than $499 for a new non-contract phone, but of course $3/month * 2 years is cheaper than both of those options.

Why didn't you read about this in the other 100 threads titles "I broke the glass in my iphone waaaa".

If you didn't take care of it and/or use a case then tough noogies. Time to buy a new one, bet you'll be more careful next time.
