My nephew, who owns an ipad2, tells me he accidentally cracked the glass cover that protects the display. :eek:

Is that something that can be replaced? Or will Apple tell him to buy a new ipad?

And if it's fixable, any idea how much it would cost?

The glass is the display. It can be replaced but don't know how much it will cost. Call Apple or visit the store and ask them.

You can get an out-of-warranty replacement not sure which iPad 2 you have but when I went to do it on mine it was $350 I think for 64GB WiFi only.

I think it's the 16GB wifi only

edit;
did you have to do anything other than take it to the Apple store and ask to re[lace it?
