Hey all,
I called AppleCare but of course my Mac is out of warranty (and I don't have AC) and the tech people don't have access to repair pricing anymore...
Less than a week ago, my MacBook 13" Early 2009 screen started not working (exact same problems as in this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1301981/). I took it to the Apple Store and of course my screen worked perfectly there only to break again when I got home. Now it's not working at all.
I also have that red light coming out of the headphone jack, and of course that means my speakers don't work. When I was in the Store 6 mos ago I was told that the logic board would need to be replaced. I didn't care a whole lot about replacing the whole logic board; I was fine with just using headphones.
So now I'm essentially stuck with a desktop computer of a MacBook with a display that stretches things ridiculously...
Anybody have any experience with either thing? How much does getting Apple to repair/replace the LCD and the logic board cost? Might I as well just get a new MacBook Pro?
Thanks,
Matthew
