Ok, here's the deal: I've got a white MacBook with a busted LCD on my hands. I'm going to purchase a new one and replace it myself. I'm confident I can do it (thanks to iFixit.com). If I purchase the display from iResQ.com it's $145 total for the LP133WX1 TL-A1 (LG Philips 13" MacBook display). They say they have a 90 day warranty and 30 day return policy. If I get the same display from eTechParts.com it's $180 total but they say they offer a 1 YEAR warranty and 30 day return policy.

My question: Where do these warranties come from? Does LG Philips offer a manufacturer warranty? If so, how long? If not, what do you think is the better choice?

Thanks to everyone who helps out.

Good question, i would think LG would have a manufacturer warranty if new, but that something you should ask etechparts or iresq....

Yeah, I suppose I'll do that. I just contacted LG Philips, now I'll try eTechParts and iResQ.

Thanks

How did your macbook come out with using eTechParts? I am preparing to send a MacBook Pro for LCD replacement and top cover replacement, and this search shows you may have used them... My computer is packed - did they treat you right??

JustStranded---what did you find out. I am in the exact same position. MacBook with a broken LCD and though I wish I could upgrade to the new MacBook Pro right now, there is no way! So, I am going to also purchase a screen and have my sister the computer tech fix it. She has done several LCD replacements on pc portables and I trust her do this one right. She is studying these two sites now:
IFIXIT Guide:
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac/MacBook-Core-2-Duo/Display/116/27/Page-1
and
ETech Guide
http://www.etechparts.com/Articles.asp?ID=205

QUESTION:
1) Does anyone have comments on either of these guides? One better than the other? Are there any other guides you'd recommend?
1b) Why is this site showing so many fewer steps? What is the difference? http://www.screentekinc.com/lcd-removal-instructions_en,macbook,step3.shtml
2) Would you recommend I buy from ETech or another site?
3) What did you find out about the warranties?

Thanks so much!!
