My macbook pro screen has become damaged after I unfortunately dropped it screen face down. The mac itself still works fine, but part of the screen is now partly black. I have Included a picture to show more of what I'm talking about.

My question is, is it just a case of replacing the screen itself. I have been looking at a few replacement screen that's are sold on ebay ( I'm also in the UK) most seem to be going for around £50- £70. Also Is it easy to replace the screen itself, I think I came across a few guides that looks pretty useful.

If everything else still functions properly then you will be able to get away with replacing just the display. I have personally never done so but there are guides as you said as well as videos to walk you through the process.
