I was trying to install an optibay, but one of the speaker screws was very hard to take off. I kept trying but then I realized that the screw had lost its shape. Is there any way to remove the screw without damaging the speaker?

Maplin (in the UK) and other suppliers sell damaged screw removal kits. They do work, generally though the screw that you remove should NEVER be used again.

I have had a similar issue over the last few years with the screws that Apple use, they seem to be a softer alloy than they used to be. Not a problem generally if you use the correct screwdriver in the first place, though most people do not.

Good luck !

Luckily I managed to replace the superdrive without removing the speaker. Everything is fully working now :D :D. I now have a spare superdrive, is there anyway I can buy an enclosure and use it as an external one? Or is it cheaper to buy the full external disc drive?
