Broken Macbook screen. Fix it myself?

Well my friend has a macbook and the screen is cracked. Apple wants $800 to fix, so its not worth that route (its a older macbook). I was wondering if there is a site that has DIY kits for replacing macbook screens? I know they have them for iphones, so I just wanted to see if they had something similar for macbooks.
