My new MBP turned up with a broken disc drive...you have to push discs all the way in before it grabs them, and it only spits them back out about a finger width - all the time making a loud grating sound. Thanks Apple.
They made me install all the updates and complete all the reset tests before they admitted it might be mechanical failure (and now they're sending me a new one). Maybe if they didn't send it from Shanghai to Korea to Poland to Germany to Holland to two differnt UK airports it might arrive in better condition...?
Has anyone else had this problem? - I want to know how likely it is I'll have to wait weeks for another broken machine.
