I just got a huge (nearly full-page) popover ad on the Macrumors front page which had no "X" button to dismiss it and which also did not go away. Had to reload the page to get rid of it. The best part: It was an ad for the Samsung Galay Tab S3 (I wonder, do they advertise Apple products on Samsung-related websites?).

Anyone had the same problem? The ad was localized for Germany.

I am very strongly against adblockers, because I tell people that if they feel ads on websites are too intrusive, they should simply move on to other sites. So I really hope that this kind of ad is not becoming the new standard here, as I do tend to follow my own advice.

That certainly sounds like a misbehaving ad. If you see it again and can grab a screenshot and/or the URL it leads to, that would help us track it down and get rid of it.
