Just wanted to post this as a follow up to a previous thread that has been locked. My wife shattered her screen within a week of getting her iPhone 4 at launch. It worked fine so she didn't want to spend $200 to get screen replaced. I finally convinced her to make a genius appointment to see what they would say. My wife was honest and polite- the genius replaced her phone for free. He said that they are now given more leeway to replace phones if it is still under warranty and if there have been no other returns on the account.
