iPod broken shuffle

a friend will sell me his broken shuffle.... but i dont want to buy it if it would cost more than a new one to fix...here is what is wrong.... The ipod will not pick up in itunes, although the computer recognizes it. The battery is still has a charge and it blinks orange on the light.

im thinking its a logic board prob it might be a memory thing.... i have no idea to tell you the truth...

Logic board??? I wouldnt buy it just becuase working shuffles are so cheap to buy now.

I'm not sure what a blinking orange light means, charging perhaps? It probably just needs to be restored.
