Hello good people,

I have a 2006 iMac in which one of the speakers seems to be slightly damaged. I can hear bits of songs missing, certain instruments not piping up, when listening to music. Can I buy some seperate speakers to add to the Mac that will take over from the internal speakers (once I plug in new speakers will the internal ones be shut up?), or is getting them fixed or replaced the only option?

Many Thanks

Yes, there's a headphone out port, so you can plug some external speakers straight into there and have them take over from your internal ones.

oh thanks.

Would they need to be plugged in to a power source too?

Any recommendations anyone? I'd pay up to £100 I think
