One of my colleagues just received a laptop shipped from China to Toronto by Fedex. He was asked to pay brokerage commissions and not a small amount. Since I paid Apple (Canada online store) all GST (VAT) I wonder if I will be asked kindly by Fedex to pay few hundreds when my MB will arrive at my door?

Your colleague must have bought their laptop directly from a Chinese seller (of some form or other) - hence the brokerage fees etc. An eBay seller who forgot to mention that part possibly ?

Your MacBook purchase is very different....and don't worry you wont have to pay any taxes or duties or fees.

Thanks for the info.
