Hi,
is there a way to list the Apple TV App Store without the Apple TV? Before getting one, I want to check the availability/list of apps.

cheers,
Tex

In addition to this one mentioned: http://www.slidetoplay.com/apple-tv-apps-top-list/

There is also this: http://atvapps.net

And this: http://www.148apps.com/newest-148-app-store-additions/5/any/

The last might be the best. Expect to be underwhelmed by all three, and spending a lot of time scrolling through app names and (single) screenshots that mystify as to what they really are, or why someone thought they'd be a good fit for AppleTV.

The biggest failing of the AppleTV (a device I'm actually quite thrilled with) is lack of discoverability for apps. They should make them another category of the App Store in iTunes, so you can at least have iTunes' search and purchase features available - this would also result AppleTV apps having App Store URL's on the web, and then developers, reviewers, and excited fans could hand out those URLs to people, instead of telling folks what to key into their Siri remote to try to find an app. Also, folks could leave actual reviews there, instead of just star ratings. Doesn't need to work on iOS, if they're worried about confusing people, just in the Mac/PC versions of iTunes. (Perfect solution? No. Better than what we have now? Absolutely.)

Biggest face palm on the AppleTV itself, with respect to apps, is... no video previews in the App Store? Come on, should have been a day one feature - it is the device specifically designed for showing video. Would help a lot with getting a feel for an app, especially with all the other information (reviews, etc) that we're missing.
