Brother printing problems in Leopard. Uggh.

My Brother MFC-8420 printer is working intermittently from the host computer, but shared users on the network (USB sharing) don't see it at all (these computers are running OS 10.4.10), and my laptop running Leopard sees it, but doesn't actually successfully print. I rely on printing to this printer in order to ship product from my business, and this is getting old.

Another Brother printer at home is also hogging system resources when connected....does anybody know if Apple is working to resolve issues with Brother printer drivers???

Anybody have any ideas? The actual error log follows:

Contact Brother, the problem is on their side. Once they update their software for Leopard compatibility it will work correctly. Lexmark printers have a similar issue.

Before installing these, my computer would seriously come to a near halt as the "Brother Scanner" (some sort of background brother driver utility) would run out of control, hogging over 50% of the CPU and consuming a lot of memory.
