Browser Blues with latest 10.4 release

Anyone else seeing Safari getting sluggish now and again - I mean really sluggish - can't think of anything else thats changed - I've repaired permissions and ran macjanitor -- the XP box on this same hub is just ripping tru web pages

Try resetting it through the Safari menu.

Yeah, Safari is a buggy mess right now. There is a new fix in development--I don't know if it is coming with 10.4.3 or later (I believe later)--with hundreds of memory leak fixes, etc.

Unfortunately, Tiger and many of its components are a mess. Microsoft quality. Apple is close to fixing many of them--not that this forgives anything.

So the reset didn't work? Have you tried deleting preferences?

I'm having the same trouble. Safari spikes the cpu every couple of seconds as high as 80%. If I kill it things are fine for a spell.

I've tried deleting autofill forms data, didn't help much. Completely turning off javascript helped sometimes but not always.

I haven't tried the "reset safari" option yet, I'll give it a go.

I've noticed the sluggishness as well. Not as bad as 10.3.9 (it was the worst ever then), but still noticeable.

Nice to know they are working on it though.
