I don't know how it happened, but the font that my browser uses (FireFox) to display text has changed to MarkerFelt/FeltMarker.

I have already gone in to preferences and there it says what it should, i.e. Times/Helvetica/_serif/_sans, etc. It makes it ver hard to read search results, YouTube descriptions, really anything on-line.

How do I get the proper font to display in my browser again?

Please help.

the default font is Lucida Grande size 14.

why no love for Safari? im assuming your a new Mac user and felt the urge to download Firefox immediately. Safari isnt like IE. unless you use Firefox for its features.

Actually I am a long time Mac user.:D

My choice for FF over Safari is simply comfort. I am more comfortable in FF than Safari. Things just seem to be a bit more intuitive for me.

Even if I change my default font, it will still use the marker font. I am not sure why it has changed all of a sudden but it is very annoying.

Sounds good. I will try when I get home from work.
Thanx for your help, I will post one last time with the results.:D

Thank you again.

Solution

As promised I am posting with the solution to the issue.
As it turns out it was a bad/corrupted font. I removed the font and everything went back to normal. I am not sure as to why the font highjacked things, but the problem is gone and so is the font.:D

Thanxs for the help.

the exact same thing is happening to my browser right now! How did you find the name of the font so you could delete it?

I'm not sure how the op did it but try opening the "fonts" app and go to "user fonts", then just cycle through them - likely you'll hit the corrupt one and you'll get the beach ball when it gets stuck - delete the font

Hope that helped!
