Browser lag on iMac 2011

Hey guys,

i have a 2011 imac corei5 with 16gb ram and 1tb hdd powering 2 27" monitors (imac itself and another 27" dell). the machine itself is really good but the web browsing experience not so much. I use both chrome/safari and the browser just stutters really bad when im scrolling or when im resizing the windows. I went into local apple store and tried all the mbps and mbas and all of them runs much smoother compared to mine even with less ram.

i tried searching around the web and on the forum but no luck. Anyone else have similar issues?

Interesting as I am using strictly chrome on my 2011 21.5" iMac I purchased yesterday and noticed the same thing, especially on Flash intensive websites. I just figured it was the Flash content slowing it down. I am not running any external monitors and I have the entry level iMac.
