Hello,

This is one of those really dumb Senior type questions, but
am really confused.

I have the Safari icon in my Dock.
I also have (I think) Firefox selected as my default Browser.

When i click on Safari, is it using Firefox ?
Sure doesn't seem to.

Can anyone please explain all of this for me re
which Browser, when, etc. How to select which is used, etc., etc. ?

Also, I have this APP AdBlock on the upper bar.
Causing problems.
Would sure like to dump it, but cannot find it in Finder, or any place else.
Where do i look to be able to remove it completely, please ?

As always, thanks,
Bob

If have chosen Firefox to be your default browser, it IS your "default" browser and will open when a link (that calls for a browser to open) is clicked.

If you open Safari "manually" (such as by clicking on the Safari icon in the dock), Safari opens and you're browsing with that.

I would prefer Safari as the default browser, but that's just me.

One piece of advice:
Stay away from "Chrome" -- it's a resource hog.

Add to what is stated above...
Clicking on Firefox runs Firefox, not Safari
The default basically means it will open links in that Browser
Starting a browser manually runs that browser, not the default

Which browser has AdBlock?
It is an extension that is added to the browser and can be disabled or deleted from the browser itself

And I use Chrome, so there's that too :)

Hi Guys,

That explains it all just Perfectly.

Much thanks. Will see if I can get rid of Adblock from the Browsers; seems to show up on both.

Thanks again,
Bob

chrome is the only way to get 4k youtube, though. Probably important, since this is the imac forum.
