When typing into a browser, such as when creating this post, I get some spell check assistance, with red underlined words that are misspelled. However, I'm not happy with it, in particular, if I add a new word, then that word is not suggested in the list for future misspellings.
An example is "Santorini' (a place name). If I write it correctly, then that's fine, its not red underlined, and that's because I added it the first time I typed it. But if I now type it as Santorinix, then its red underlined, but right click on it, and Santorini is not suggested as one of the alternatives. So its not looking at my added words in the list of suggestions.
A second issue is, if I have a word I consistently misspell, and just once accidentally select 'add to dictionary', then that misspelling is 'fixed' - how do I edit the dictionary to remove my mistakes?
A third issue - is there a way of autocorrecting mistakes? As in MS Word, if I type "teh" for "the", it changes it on the fly. Can this be done in the browser?
So in conclusion, is there a better spell check app that fixes the irritations I have above, and is the spell check browser specific, or wider than that, for example in text edit, is it the same function, or is it app specific, so I should be looking for a browser plug in for each browser I use? (Firefox being my main one)
