I am looking to try a 2nd browser to use from time to time other than my current Safari 5.1.10. Any suggestions or user experiences with one that works with little or no issues on Snow Leopard OS. Thanks for any input or help.

You can try Firefox or Google Chrome as your alternate browser.

Another vote here for Google Chrome. I use Chrome on my 1,1 MP at work running Snow Leopard and I haven't come across any issues.

I would suggest that you'd try Opera if you really want to try something that is different to Safari but still good.
