I have a 2018 13" MacBook Pro , which was working perfectly until I installed the latest Catalina update 10.15.1

Immediately after the update was completed I had problems opening web pages in SafarI. My home page Gmail will open maybe, very slowly, but will not function, it shows a message "not connected". All other Web pages will not open, the blue moving line in the address bar simply moves about one inch and stops permanently.

I have found that I can open some web pages by turning wi-fi off and on several times, but the pages tend not to function correctly .

Apple News in the Dock works just fine. Firefox and Chrome are also not functioning .

I would be very grateful if someone could advise me, as my tech knowledge is very limited. Many Thanks

Well I'll be damned !! Twenty minutes after I posted my problem on here using my iPad, I returned to my Mac to check something and just clicked on a website as I have done hundreds of times in the past few days. However this time it worked properly and so did all my other favourite web pages in all three of my browsers.

A total mystery to me, for I have done nothing to correct the failure of my browsers to open correctly.
