I think when I opened youtube through an email link in safari on my iphone I changed the settings from mobile view to regular view.

So now I am not able to view my friends' accounts as the youtube app doesn't support that and safari is opening the main youtube page (and not the m.youtube?) which requires flash to view videos.

Thanks!

This was the default youtube that I had in safari and I clicked on desktop and I'm not sure of how to go back.

I will try deleting cookies under settings.

After I visited .m.youtube it started working properly (e.g. email links opened up in .m.youtube).

It might be as simple as Youtube creating / modifying a cookie to divert you automatically to your preferred version of the site; if you chose the full version of the site at some point from MobileSafari, the cookie might have been changed....
