BTFon app no longer appears in the app store

I like the idea of BTFon - you volunteer to share some bandwidth from your home hub in exchange for being able to share the bandwidth of the home hubs of other BT users who also agree to share. Some time ago BT released an app for logging into the shared network automatically, allowing access to the BTFon and BTOpenzone networks. However, I was never able to get the app to work successfully. User reviews of the apps were polarized - for some it apparently worked well, but for others like me it is inconsistent at best. I noticed that some of the positive reviews had similarities - the emphasized that the BTFon app was 'FREE' (all caps), were written by 'reviewers' who had written only one app review ever, and had suspicious names like 'HappyBTConvert'. So I sent a message to Apple suggesting that they confirm whether these reviews were real or from a marketing company. Several days ago a new version of BTFon appeared. I could not get it to work reliably, and I think others probably had the same issues with the app. Now the app has disappeared from the app store. I think the most likely explanation is that they're re-working the app, but I do wonder whether a marketing firm has been caught red-handed trying to boost ratings of the app. I was just wondering, does anybody have any hard facts about this?
