I just configured a new MP. The bad news is as soon as you upgrade the video card to a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT the shipping date changes from 2-3 days to 3-5 weeks. Ouch!

apple realises that there will be high demand for this configuration therefore is over anticipating waiting times i feel

Order now and you may get it earlier if your in before the bulk of orders later today or nearer the end of the week!

FWIW, I ordered a VESA mount with a listed 4-6 week waiting time yesterday, and it's set to arrive tomorrow.

Apple usually is pretty close to the estimates, but sometimes you get lucky.

The BTO times are often pretty long when new Macs are introduced. Apple has a history of this. It's not surprising.

My 2.8 octo is 3-5 weeks. $150 for the 8800GT seems to be a no brainer to me, even if I might not see it until February.
