Bubbles on 'dry' invisibleshield installation?

I did an InvisibleShield installation on my MacBook without spraying the application solution on the adhesive side. Is the material porous enough to allow the air to escape? How long do you think it would take? The bubbles are generally medium sized with some large ones.

Dude the spray makes bubbles slide away from the shield. You should read instructions before!

Worse comes to worse rip it off and exercise their lifetime warranty. But the bubbles should go away. You are supposed go push as much water out as possible though.

Haven't had that much experience with the invisible shield, but the solution is little more than liquid soap. most guys in the window film industry use the likes of johnson babybath (blue coloured bottle and liquid) about six parts water one part liquid soap. or what ever it takes for the glue to loose its initial stickiness.

I'd doubt the porosity is sufficient to allow the bubbles to simply migrate through the film there nanotec claim (there's still no official definition or real safety standards regarding nanotec materials). but try getting ahold of a 3m gold card squeegee and some 2000 grit sand paper to prep the edge of the card to make it smooth enough not to scratch the film (starbucks payment cards are good too if a little flimsy for hard pressing) and have a go at getting the bubbles out manually, no harm in giving it a try.

In fairness to your efforts with a bit of practise and some care with the initial alignment you shouldn't need any solution to apply the film.

Ran across this thread doing a google search for the dry install reviews but you guys didn't read his thread title very well.


It's a DRY install shield not their wet install version, NO FLUID.

And you obviously didn't read the first post very well. He said that he chose not to use the application solution, meaning that he had purchased the wet install version but installed it not according to the instructions.

Edit: OP, as long as you use the minimal amount of fluid for proper installation, you shouldn't have to worry about getting liquid into your device. The bubbles may never disappear, especially if the film is not porous. So the other people's advice to exercise your lifetime warranty may be the only solution. Just be sure to use the spray bottle next time.

Edit 2: What exactly is the dry install version? I was under the impression that their products required the solution for proper installation, and I can't find any evidence of a separate "dry install" product on their site (unless I misunderstood your post).
