Hi,

Yesterday I set up my Apple TV 4k with my new 4k TV with Dolby Vision. Prior to that I had a non-HDR 1080p TV. Since that (I also changed the resolution/HDR settings accordingly on the Apple TV) I only have one screensaver available that always repeats itself. I also can't cycle between different screensavers using the remote. My screensaver settings are set up so that new wallpapers get downloaded daily.

Anyone else having this issue and knows how to solve it?

Thanks and best wishes
Chris

If I'm not mistaken the ScreenSaver settings denoted for the type of ScreenSaver that these are, is to "Download New Video": Never, Daily, Weekly, Monthly. This is not a bug, but the way the setting operates. I have had my ATV4K up and running for over a year with the settings set to "Daily" and noticed that after the announcement of new ScreenSavers they all appeared a new one once daily. Recently I thought I hadn't gotten any until I noticed that the usual order and quantity of SSs were different and then finally I saw the "Cape Fur Seals off the coast of Cape Peninsula, South Africa". Since then, I have gotten one new ScreenSaver per day as per the settings I have.

Ah okay, I get it, thanks. It downloads only one screensaver a day. Just fyi, about an hour later after I created this thread I already saw a second one :)

i'd recommend turning on range matching in the video settings section.
I'm guessing yours is off, since it sounds like you're in HDR all the time. (there are different groups of screensavers for HDR/SDR)

With range matching turned off, all SDR video is "up converted" by the aTV to HDR, the result from this is less that ideal, and can cause "cartoonish" and overblown colors.

I keep my aTV in SDR mode, but with range matching on, so if i watch something in Dolby or HDR, it switches the signal to the appropriate kind.
I prefer the look of the menus in SDR, and switching video signals causes a brief blackout, since most of my content is SDR, i don't see that blackout as often, since i'm in SDR normally.
but you should play around and see what setting look best to you.

If i'm in SDR and the screen saver kicks in, i have tons of screen savers.
when watching something in HDR and i pause long enough for screensaver, I only have one (flying over downtown LA at night)
i did try leaving it defaulted to HDR for a few days once, but it didn't download any new ones.

You should also turn on frame rate matching.
if your aTV is in 60frame/second and you watch something in 24f/s then several of those frames are displayed longer than others (since 24 doesn't go into 60 evenly) with can lead to jumpy video.
here's a wiki article with a lot more detail and explanation.

I chose 4K + Dolby Vision because I like the HDR look on the home screen and screensavers. I‘ve also enabled Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate 👍
