I'm running Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and I'm having some weird issues with my menu bar. I have absolutely no idea what is causing this.

So here's what happens:

If I click on something in the menu bar, it will stay highlighted, even after I've clicked off of it. If I click on something in the drop down menu then it'll change to white or move along the menu bar. If I log out or restart it'll go back to normal but it will have the same issues as soon as I click on something.

I've tried repairing the disk permissions and repairing the disk but it's not working. However, after creating another user, I can verify that they don't have the same problem.

I'm not sure what to do here, any thoughts?

Try this, open System Preferences->Users and Groups, select your account name, Login Items tab. Remove all the items and reboot. If the issue goes away then add back one item at a time to the Login Items until the issue happens again.
