From what I've read, you can make TimeMachine backup to an NTFS network volume. But what's the point of this? You can't browse the backup right? So might as well format it HFS+ for better compatibility?

My MBP drive is 500GB. What I would do is create a 500GB HFS+ partition, install MacDrive and share that drive over smb?

Or would it just be easier to stick with NTFS? Does it have to be it's own network share or can it go anywhere?

Also, does TimeMachine natively support FAT?
