Built-in iSight not connected!

Ok so my iSight started to stop working only a couple of days ago "Camera Not Connected" (photobooth, skype and other apps that use the camera).

I checked System Profiler to see if iSight was detected, it did not most of the time. So, ya, it was detected a couple of times. I followed Apple's iSight Troubleshoot, it worked today when I did the whole r-p-alt-command boot thing.

Now I am back to zero! I tried the previous boot again, but this time it didn't work.

I have had this MBP since early 2008, it's been doing really well. I have OS X 10.6.5 installed.

any ideas? I doesn't appear to be a hardware issue, right?

Download this AppleScript and choose enable isight.

See if that helps. It's what I've used to disable the isight on my mac, it also works in the opposite way.

I guess it's possible that it's somehow physically disconnected.

But if it is hardware why did it work when I did r-p-alt-command boot? I'm just curious.
