Built-in iTunes playlists are show different songs on my iPhone

The playlists such as 'My 25 Most Played' and "Newest Additions' seem to show the correct songs in the playlist on my iTunes, but when they sync to my iPhone, they show totally different songs (for the most part.) Is there something i might be doing wrong or might this be a bug with the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware?
