So I decided to replace the backlighting for my old 30 inch Apple Cinema Display but instead of soldering new CCFL bulbs which will eventually dim and yellow again along with losing brightness I put in a whole new LED panel from a Dell UP3017 which has same anti glare matte resolution of 2560x1600.

The panel is from LG anyways as they are the suppliers to Apple and Dell among others as off the shelf.

Still need to adjust a little bit. Its not perfect but good enough. I consider it a backlight replacement basically.

Works like a charm and at least saves the frame from going to the recycling depot or dump. Old internals can list for free or sell as in my area there are always some people looking for some msc parts.

Connects via HDMI or Displayport and no more power brick. Just standard power supply on back of panel like any modern day monitor so it plugs in like an iMac.
