I have copied a bunch of mp3 files off of a USB drive to my main Mac drive. The files and drive had been connected to a Windows PC and when I copied the files they all had their permissions set to Read Only. I'm talking around 3500 files total in different directories. Is there anyway I can easily go in on my Mac and change all the permissions to read/write?

Lets say the files are in a folder called Songs in my home folder (dsung)

Open up terminal:

cd /Volumes/Mac/Users/dsung/Songs
chmod -R 777 *

That should change the permissions to all of the files in that folder. If for some reason you aren't the owner of the files then you will need to sudo the command.

Edit:
Hmm... now that I think about it, why would you need anything more than read only for mp3s?
