I'm doing some reorganizing of my file structure with my new computer, and I want to change the folder that I keep most of my iTunes songs in (which dates way back to before iTunes offered to "organize" for you, so I've never gone with that). I want to change one of the folders in the song's path from "MIDI" to "Media," but I have yet to find an easy way to do that.
I've tried having the app open and re-name the directory then while playing an album. It works for that album, but nothing else. I've tried it just in the general library open, but then all of the songs are lost.
I've tried editing the XML library file, but that didn't do any good because it gets re-written upon closing iTunes, and iTunes doesn't seem to read the XML file but the binary file, anyway.
Any ideas?
