I recall when the CDMA iPhone came out the old bumpers would not fit due to slight movement of the volume buttons.

Apple now sells a universal bumper? Was the design actually changed?

Or do all bumpers ever fit all iPhones? I would like to order a new grey bumper off Ebay for the upcoming white 4S, but some say "AT&T or Verizon only" and im not sure of the exact external changes.

Appreciate any info.

4S is physically the same as the Verizon 4

Thanks. But do you know what was physically changed? And how did apple change their bumper to accompany both GSM and CDMA designs?

Enlarged holes around volume buttons?

Yep they made the mute switch hole larger. Fits both phones perfectly now

I'm waiting for Apple to put the antenna back into the phone.

The external antenna was, and is pure nonsense.

However that said I do know that the ex CEO was over invested in this style personally.

Therefore the iPhone may forever be saddled with this "styling cue".

What a damn shame.

Supposedly the new 4S fixed this problem by redesigning the antenna. I still love the 4's look so that's fine. I just wanted a bigger screen! :(

Also worth noting is that the "new" bumper also has a bigger Dock Connector cutout, which means more third-party cables will work...

Oh please. The iP4 gets the best reception of any phone I've owned and if they've fixed the minor antennagate issue then it'll easily be the best antenna in the industry
