Bumper like cases

Are there any cases that are bumper like (i.e. only cover the sides), but provide more substantial support? I really like the look of the back of the iPhone and it'd be a waste to cover it. But Apple's bumpers are expensive and provide little to no protection.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, not looking for clear cases that cover the back.

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/961305/ this thread has all the bumper alternatives to date. I think the tech21 iband should be excellent protection. Also the Marware brand seem to be pretty hefty.
