I just got my 4 yesterday in store pick up. Has the bumper on since I got it. Today I decided to take it off just to get a naked feel before putting on the invisishield. Well I noticed 2 small Knicks on the plastic right under the steel band. Has this happened to anyone else?

Manufacturing defect maybe?

I have a bumper but have preferred to keep it in a full case, and this is only temporary until the Otterbox Defender cases for the iP4 become available and then it goes in there for max protection. :)

It might have been from the way I took it off. The knicks are right under the sleep button area. I know there is hard plastic where the sleep button goes in the bumper. I must have taken it off wrong or something.

Same thing happened to me, but its hardly noticeable. What are you gonna do?

Well nothing can be done about it. Like yours, it's hardly noticeable. I have a bumper on so it really doesn't matter. I just need to be more careful when taking off the bumper, we all need to.

is it the type of scratch that can only be seen at a angle?

I've always put mine on top first and taken it off bottom first. It seemed the best way since there are no buttons at the bottom. Didn't really think much about it but I'm glad I did now that you mention this. I have put it on backwards a couple of time when I was in a hurry, guess I should be more careful.

putting on any case allows dust and tiny particles to collect between the case and the phone. as you walk around with the phone in your pocket, the dust/particles move against the case and phone, scratching the surface
