Hey everyone I have a lot of AVI files on my mac, and I want to put them on DVDs for safe keeping. I found out that now the xbox 360 can play AVI discs (meaning just the file off the disc). How do I go about doing that? I know it says it can play divx (which is AVI basically right?). So all I need to do is burn a data DVD with a bunch of AVIs on there. How do I go about doing this? Any free programs to help do this?

thanks everyone!

EDIT: Also how do I rip the TV Shows off of DVDs and convert them to AVI so I can do the same process with them? (rather then having just 4 episodes on 1 DVD, have a bunch on one DVD)

To burn your existing AVIs onto a DVD, load up Finder, Go to Help and search for "burn DVD". It will show you how.

To rip a DVD for playback on an XBOX360, use Handbrake, found here:
http://handbrake.fr/

The xbox360 supports H.264 MP4 (even 1920x1080 HD). It has three PowerPC CPU's and can certainly run HD contents. I would suggest you rip to MP4 with H.264 video codec and AAC audio.
