Bundled software

i got my imac 2 days ago (first mac)
what is on the bundled software disk? is it already installed (is the disk just in case the imac loses everything?)

Yes, it is just the non-core OS part of your system recovery/re-install DVD set. Everything is already installed. That DVD has things like iLife on it as that is not part of the core OS distribution.

The discs are really handy, so keep them somewhere safe. They are really useful if you want to reinstall the OS from scratch (starting over) or if you have to replace your hard drive or something.
