Hey, I recently machines a macbook (Not pro, and no DVD burner). I have several AVI files on my computer right now (divx/xvid encoded). My question is can I burn these files into a VCD that can be play on a VCD/DVD player? Are there any opensource software avaliable in OS X?

Thanks in advance,
kalun

Remember that CD's have a smaller data transfer rate, so check your video's before you burn them. Otherwise you will get lag whem watching them

Good advice!!
Thanks man

Another option is to get an external DVD burner (USB2 or firewire). Xlr8yourmac has a database of the ones which work with your Mac.

Or if you know someone with a DVD burner or have one on a computer in your house, you could always create a project in iDVD and save it is a disk image. You can then copy that image to a computer with a DVD burner and create it there.
