I have had a black macbook, 1 GB RAM, 100 GB HDD, for the past several months. I had a single DVD in there for much of the time that I have had it, Civilization IV, and after taking it out recently, I noticed that it was a darker brown in the middle. Should I be worried?

If it's only darker up to a certain point, that is actually where the data has been written.

ie, if it slowly fades out as you get towards the edge then it is something to be worried about.
If it starts in the middle, and then just stops completely, then it's fine, that is where the data is actually being stored...

Its only on the top, as I should have specified. However, it does slowly fade from dark to light brown.

Yeah, here.

EDIT: The Back is completely normal.

Hmmmm, now that isn't normal

I'll guess what it could be, possibly a CD gripper or something wearing at the middle of the disc?
