With iDVD you used to be able to burn playable DVDs and you can still do it with free apps like Burn but I'm wondering if there's any possibility to do the same thing with Blu-rays?

I rarely edit videos so I don't have professional software like Final Cut or Premiere installed. (although I do have Photoshop which can also be used to edit videos but I don't think it can do that, right?)

You need software like Toast and a DVD drive capable of burning BR disks.

Yeah, I'm not that interested in paying for Toast for something I use maybe once a year... Isn't there a free or cheaper alternative like Burn?

Probably not on the Mac...

Don't they at least have a trial version? Otherwise it probably makes more sense to just use Burn and DVDs despite the quality being terrible...

There is a ton of this kind of software available for free.
