Hello. My SAMSUNG Slim External DVD Writer - SE-S084B is not reading DVDs on my MacBook Pro. I have heard this DVD writer model is Mac accessible. The Install disc that came with the unit is a Nero 8 Essentials CD-Rom that only has EXE. Files. Is there software that will help support this DVD writer? I have had no luck searching online and the Samsung website.

Please help.

Thank you very much.

Saw this on the Amazon.com page for your drive.

I took it out of the package, plugged it into my iBook and just hoped it would work. It didn't. Or at least....I thought it didn't. What I noticed is that the cord to connect the drive to my computer had two USB plugs, so I put both of them into my computer, and bam! It worked perfectly. I had a DVD in the drive and the DVD player automatically booted up and I was watching a movie on my computer....something I haven't been able to do in years. This drive saved me hundreds of dollars in either replacing the internal drive....or buying myself a new laptop! Thank you!

You may have more luck if you continue searching.
