Hello. I have a problem with a friends data apparently being trapped on a number of CDs that were burned in Toast. I have attempted to copy the files onto both my and their Mac (both iMacs - one G5 and one Intel, both running 10.5.6) and when I try and drag and drop I get a white circle with a line through it, and when I try copy and paste it says that "One or more of the items may have been deleted or are no longer available". I can only find one other query regarding this online, and whilst they didn't come to a definitive conclusion, it appeared to have something to do with slashes in the CD name. The CDs I am trying to copy from all have excessively long names for some reason (60+ characters in some cases). Does anyone know if there is a maximum size that OS X recognises, and if there is any way of getting around this? I think the cds work normally on Windows, so we may be able to copy them onto a Windows laptop and reburn with more conventionally sized names, but it would be a slow and tedious process I am hoping to avoid if possible. Oddly, I am able to open the files in Preview, then save them to the desktop that way, which suggests something odd is going on, but given the number of files per disc, and the number of discs, that would be even worse than the Windows route.
Thanks
