I've got an .avi file that i'm trying to burn to a disc. I'm simply dropping the file into the opened disc folder and clicking 'burn disc'. However, it says the file is too big and I need a bigger cd-r. Is there any way to get this file onto two separate discs or do i need a cdr with more space?

Roxio's Toast will allow data spanning over multiple discs, as long as toast is installed on both machines (mac-only)
Hope this helps.

You can split the file into two parts then burn each part to a disc. Does it have to be in .avi format? Or can you convert it into another format then split it using iMovie or QT or FC. Another option is splitting it into two .rar files.
