When burning a DVD for a Home DVD Player or to send to family menbers of a homemade dvd. What type of DVD is the most acceptable for a home DVD Player (+R or -R). Keeping in mind that my in-laws and other family members are not techno-savvy and are not up on the latest and greatest. Thanks!!

Both should work, but since -R is in theory slightly better for set-top players, they're both the same price, and there's no other functional difference, no reason not to get -R.

I've never had a problem with -R. I've rarely had a problem with +R DL. But for some weird reason I've never been able to make +R work.

Go with -R. Especially if these people have older DVD players.
