burning a movie to a dvd using idvd and external dvd burner

so basically i finished a dvd on idvd and so it says i dont have a super drive so im sol is there a way to put it on dvd using the external besides making it a image file and burning it on toast cause it says theres a crappy part in a imove thing and skips to the end

I've used an external drive with iDVD before, just make sure it is powered on before you move to the burning part.
