Burning an imovie DVD to play on a DVD player

Now that I've made an iMovie on a DVD, how do I burn a DVD-R to play on my DVD player? I tried downloading a web app, but it didn't work.

Confusing

The progression is: assemble scenes on iMovie, export what you have done to iDVD then burn through the iDVD software. If you have no iDVD software
you have a problem, unless you export what you have completed on iMovie
as an mp4 file then copy onto a thumb drive....put thumb drive in your HD TV or blue ray player with the USB input.

If you don't have iDVD, then search the Mac App store for "burn DVD". Make sure you read the reviews because many of these apps could be of low quality.

If you have iDVD then you can send from iMovie to iDVD by using iMovie's Share menu.

If you don't have iDVD, then Burn is the recommended free application:

In either case, you'll need to make a video dvd to be able to play it in a dvd player.
