Burning avi files to dvd

Just wondering if someone can help me. I downloaded a film torrent last night via transmission. When I play the clip in real player or quick time it comes up with a green screen and says its only 15 seconds long but when I play it through DivX it's fine. The quality is perfect and the file length of the film is there.

I've been trying to use Toast to burn it to dvd but when I drag the file into Toast to convert it, it just shows up as the 15 second green screen clip??

Don't know if this will help you but I use Nero under Windows on the Mac with no problems.

I use the app "Burn" to copy .avi files to a DVD. It converts the file into a .mpg video format and it'll work in just about any DVD player. You can also make audio discs, DVD-Audio discs, and data discs. And it's free. Works fast and like a charm.
